XR = XL PERFORMANCE
A major innovation of the 2013 MTB range, this pure 29’’cross-country bike is noted for its innovative, sleek design and light weight. As a worthy descendant of the well-loved 2004 Xrace, this frame was specifically conceived by our engineers for 29” wheels. The XR geometry is oriented towards competition. Its elegant yet simple design via a new mono-pivot system, guarantees critical weight loss and optimized stiffness. The elimination of linkages between seat stays and chain stays decreases weight, and is compensated by carbon flexibility on these areas. The Fox rear shock has been specifically developed and tuned for the XR and can be set up manually on 3 positions : CTD (Climb, Trail, Down) so as to offer 100 mm of travel. XR is also compatible with e:i shock, for even better riding response.
The bike is a viable alternative to hardtails yet remains a dynamic racing weapon! Superbly efficient while climbing, thanks to its light weight and excellent traction, the XR is equally good in descents, due to the rear shock / 29’’ wheel combination coupled with a low position that gives the rider confidence. As required by our engineers, the rider position is similar to that of the 26”, due to a low bottom bracket and negative rise stem.
