Team Lapierre Gravity Republic opened their season on the other side of the planet, in New Zealand.
After two weeks of testing on the tracks of Queenstown; Loic Bruni, Loris Vergier and their new team mate Finn Iles flew to Rotorua for the 1st stage of Crankworx 2015. Unfortunately, Finn Iles could not take part in the different races due to a broken thumb.
For Loic Bruni and Loris Vergier, it was a great opportunity to test themselves against the top riders before the 1st round of the World Cup.
Loris Vergier, who’s riding for the 1st time in the Elite category, unfortunately crashed in his final run. He still finished 18th.
Then, Loic Bruni showed everybody that he’s already on top form. In a run of less than 3 minutes, he claimed victory with a 2.5 second gap. And the list of names that follow is rather impressive: Blenkinsop, Branningan, Fairclough, Hill, Macdonald, Atherthon... This already looks like a DH World Cup. 15 days before the opening of the World Cup on French soil, Loic Bruni could not hope for better! Watch the recap of the race here below.
Our riders are now looking ahead to the 1st World Cup in Lourdes, France.
