On a super-fast track which was turned into a quagmire by a storm, the riders gave it their all from the start. Quickly, the winner of the World Cup 2012-13, Niels Albert, took the lead of the race, a position he did not let go of until the finish line.
Behind him, the current leader of the World Cup Lars van den Haar, Czech rider Martin Bina and Francis Mourey rode for the 2nd place. The french rider was once again in great shape and riding alone in 2nd place, 3 laps before the finish line. The last lap saw a group of 3 battling for 2nd place: Sven Nys, once again showing an impressive comeback , Lars van den Haar and Francis Mourey .
They finally came close to the winner of the day (5 seconds) and at the sprint, Dutchman Lars van der Haar preceded Sven Nys and Francis Mourey, who came in fourth after a solid race.
The French CX Champion now looks forward to shining on his home soil in Nommay (January 26th) for the 7th and final round of the CX World Cup from 2013 to 2014 and can now more than ever expect great things for the World Championships in February.
