After a promising 1st round in Chile, our riders from Team Lapierre Gravity Republic headed to Argentina for the second round of the Enduro World Series.
And that was a hell of a round for all the competitors. Steep and dusty stages, with lots of ruts formed by the huge number of riders.
The tracks suited the DH riders pretty well. In the Elite Men’s category, the same two riders monopolized the top spot (Rude, Maes), but behind we find some names that are more familiar in DH than Enduro: Sam Blenkinsop (who took a superb 3rd place), Toni Ferreiro, Lewis Buchanan ...
On our side, Nico Vouilloz has done his utmost to defend his chances on these very special tracks. After 2 days of racing, he took 11th place. Slightly down compared to last week, but allowing him to still keep the 4th place overall!
In the Women’s, Rae Morrison was motivated to gain a podium place. Unfortunately, two over-the-bars in the 3rd stage cost her some precious time. She still holds a solid 6th place and is now 5th in the overall.
In the U21 category, Adrien Dailly arrived with the leader’s status. Fighting with Sebastien Claquin for the top spot, he unfortunately suffered from a mechanical problem and lost a lot of time in the SP2 and SP3. The gap with the 1st place was then too big, but he still finished in 2nd place and took the place of overall leader tied with Sebastien Claquin.
In the team standings, Team Lapierre Gravity Republic finished third in this race but still lead the overall standings!
It’s time to get back to Europe now for our riders, and head to Ireland for the 3rd round of the EWS in just over a month.
