GP La Marseillaise - Great start for Pinot !

This is a very promising season’s start that we saw yesterday yesterday in Marseille.

Thibaut Pinot

For the first round of the French Cup, the Team FDJ showed high ambitions on the GP La Marseillaise with a team composed by Pinot, Vichot, Reza, Lecuisinier…

On a very windy circuit, the FDJ leader was on his advantage in the steep climbs and escaped on the ridge road before the col de la Gineste, accompanied by the Belgian rider Dries Devenyns (IAM Cycling). Working perfectly together, the two riders managed to maintain a gap of forty seconds ahead of the peloton and came to a sprint finish for the victory. But it’s finally the Belgian rider from Team IAM who claimed victory, ahead of Thibaut Pinot, for a few centimeters ... Frustrating, but we are already looking forward to seeing the next races! Arthur Vichot finished seventh.
