May 1910. Two months before the start of the 8thedition of the Tour de France, Alphonse Steines drove his car to the foot of the Col du Tourmalet in the Pyrenees.
He was a journalist at L'Auto and was responsible for planning the route for the Tour de France. For quite some time, he’d had just one idea in mind: he wanted to find out if it was possible for the riders in the next edition to enter the Pyrenees for the first time. No one had ever dared to try this before.
The 2014 season of the Team Lapierre Gravity Republic started as the last one finished: at top speed! At Mount Hutt - New Zealand - Sam Blenkinsop picked up his first title of the season.

After avoiding injury for most of his career, luck has not been on Nico Vouilloz’s side recently. Following a break of several months (scaphoid fracture and operation for crossed ligaments on his left knee) at the end of the 2013 season, the Lapierre rider had recently restarted training. Unfortunately, a recent fall has put an end to his training. This time it was the turn of his right knee to suffer.
On the opposite side of the planet the New Zealand DH Championships took place this weekend. A very high level with strong riders showing up for this event: Brook McDonald, Cam Cole, George Branningan, Nick Beer, etc..

2 months after visiting the Lapierre offices in Dijon, Renaud Lavillenie entered into sport’s legend. On Saturday 15th February, the Frenchman joined the Pantheon of sport, beating the pole vault world record, which had stood for 21 years.
