Paris-Nice - Bouhanni strikes again!

One year after his epic debut at Paris-Nice (victory + yellow jersey on the 1st stage, then a crash and forced to quit on the 2nd stage), Nacer Bouhanni got off to a good start once again!

In a hectic first stage, Nacer crashed after 70kms and got back in the race with his knee badly messed up. He made several trips to the car to get medical care whenever possible.

Approaching the finish line, the rider got back his killer instinct. 300m from the line, he was neck and neck with Degenkolb but managed to pull away from the German sprinter.

Bouhanni claimed victory ahead of a strong bunch of specialists: Degenkolb, Meersman, Rojas, Farrar, Coquard. He also took the leader’s yellow jersey.

Second stage and another sprint concluded the race. This time, Bouhanni took 3rd place behind Hofland (Belkin) and Degenkolb (Giant Shimano), but retained the yellow jersey!

The race is ending on Sunday in Nice.
