Pinot was close

The Tour de France comes around every year, but is never a repeat history for Team FDJ. After an amazing 2014 edition, with the final podium and the white jersey of best young rider on the shoulders of Thibaut Pinot, the FDJ Team has not been lucky this year.

After the departure of William Bonnet due to a big crash during the first week, it's Steve Morabito who was then forced to leave the race. A crash and a broken collarbone, hard for our Swiss rider.

Thibaut Pinot, not anymore in the battle for the general classification, is now targeting stage victories. On Saturday, he was present in the escaped group of the day, and during the climb to Mende, he managed to get rid of the other riders and escaped with Romain Bardet, 2 kms from the finish line. However, they were joined by the British rider Steve Cummings in the last kilometer, who had enough speed to overtake the two French riders. A great opportunity missed for the FDJ rider, but there is still one week of racing and beautiful stages in the Alps to finish the Tour on a positive note.
